Playing on Saturday after Friday's bad weather, the Wildcats were unable to score against Kilgore, giving up three first half goals.

They were able to come out in the second half and put together some opportunities and hold Kilgore from scoring.

This district is going to be tough, and Coach Clemons said each team is capable of winning at any given time.

The boys rebounded against Pine Tree, knowing they needed a win to stay atop district.

The Cats came out strong in the first half, having several shots on goal early. Pine Tree was able to score first nine minutes into the first half. The Cats came right back when Payne Stinchfield found Daniel Peek open on the left side. Peek was able to slide the ball past the Pine Tree keeper for the equalizer goal.

The second half was a defensive battle Colton Strother was able to make some awesome saves to keep the Cats tied. The cats best chance to win in regulation came when Tanner Hays took the ball to the top of the 18 and crossed the ball to Julio Alleman who sent a rocket just over the cross bar.

The game remained tied through two 10-minute overtime periods. The game now moved into Texas Shootout with each team having five players to shoot. Pine Tree was able to make 3 of there 5 and the Cats were only able to make 2 so the Cats were still able to walk away with 1 point for the tie in regulation which will be much needed come the end of the season to see who goes on to the playoffs.

The Cats overall record is 2- 3-2 and 1-1-1 in district. The Cats will play host to Eustace Friday nite at home with the JV boys starting at 4 p.m. and the varsity girls playing at 5:30 p.m., followed by varsity boys at 7 p.m.

In the JV game, the Cats and Pine Tree tied 1-1.
