Despite a furious fourth quarter comeback attempt, the Tiger boys varsity lost 57-54 to Waskom Friday.

Reginald Wade and Der'Rick Thompson led the charge with 18 and 16 points, respectively.

After a tight first quarter, with Waskom leading 15-13, the teams went to the locker room with just five points separating them, 26-21.

Waskom extended its lead to 13 points at the end of the third quarter, before the Tigers outscored the Wildcats 23-13 in the fourth to narrowly miss the come-from-behind win.

Other scorers for Troup were Cody Lepelley and Jake Johnson with 6 points each and Nick Reeves and Jeremy Richardson with 4 each.

Troup (2-5) will host West Rusk Friday, with the varsity scheduled to play at 7:30 p.m.
