JV rolls against Mavs The Whitehouse JV kept their unbeaten district record intact last week. The first victory came on the road against Marshall as the Mavericks struggled from the field in route to a 53-11 Whitehouse romp. Balanced scoring was the key for the Wildcats as Judd Jackson and Skip Caldwell paced the Wildcats with 10 points each. They were followed by Justin Keller with 7 and Drew Flynn and Luke Clardy with 5 points each. The next game at home against Nacogdoches did not prove to be as easy as the Dragons pressing style frustrated the Wildcats into turnovers and the Cats found themselves only leading 37-36 headed into the fourth quarter. The game remained close to the end but some clutch shooting by the Wildcats down the end and some turnovers by the Dragons propelled the Cats to a 51-47 win. Keller led the Wildcats in scoring with 17 and Jackson followed with 15 to pace the Cats offense. The win keeps the JV undefeated in district play with a 7-0 record headed into the second half of district play which finds the Cats hosing their rivals from Jacksonville tomorrow night at home following the freshman game. |
