Ladycats split games with Nac, Kilgore

The Ladycats rebounded from a loss to Nacogdoches on Friday to defeat Kilgore at home Tuesday night.

Nacogdoches overcame a rough third quarter to narrowly clip Whitehouse, 52-49.

Alicia Cordova surpassed her scoring averge of 13.4 to rack up 20 points in the loss.

Kayla Mason added 13 pints, followed by Shelly Williams with 7, Jordan Knight 4, Caroline Perrier 3 and Haylee Aldredge 2.

Perrier, Mason and Williams all nailed down a trey.

Whitehouse fell behind early, trailing 20-10 after the first quarter and then 28-19 at the half.

They narrowed the deficit heading into the fourth, 40-39, but couldn't pull out the win.

The JV also lost to Nac, 40- 23.

Mason led her teammates in the win over Kilgore, chipping in 15 in the 40-25 win.

Cordova and Knight added 8 each, followed by Williams with 5 and Aldredge 4.

The win was something of an upset, being the Lady Bulldog's second district loss (8-2) compared to Whitehouse's 6-4 record.

Whitehouse jumped out to an early led and never looked back.

The JV also won, 51-30.

The Ladycats travel to Jacksonville Friday with the varsity scheduled to play at 7:30 p.m.
