Frosh grab blowout wins

The Whitehouse freshman boys' basketball team came away last week with two convincing wins. The first win came at the hands of the Marshall Mavericks on the road last Tuesday night with the final score of 79-29.
Quincy Aldridge and Trey Metoyer led the way for the Cats in the scoring column with 22 and 19 points, respectively. Behind them the Wildcats provided balanced scoring getting 8 points each from Conner Cashion and Terrance Franklin followed by Ryan Speake with 7 and Chris Ervin with 6.
The Wildcats followed that win with another offensive explosion at home on Friday night defeating Nacogdoches 90-34. The Cats jumped out to a 48-13 lead at the half and never looked back as Aldridge led the way with 22 points followed by Cashion and Metoyer with 17 each. Shundrick Beasley and Speake also poured in 8 points each in the win.
With the two victories, the Wildcats finished the first half of district in first place with an unblemished mark of 7-0. The freshmen return to action tomorrow as they face a tough task against Jacksonville at Wildcat Arena.
