Middle school girls sweep Elysian Fields

The middle school Lady Tigers swept Elysian Fields at home last Thursday.
The seventh-graders (6-2) won 23-16, and the eighth grade team (5-3) dominated 45-8.
Wykina Caldwell led the seventh grade victor y with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Charisma McCowin added 3 points, 5 boards and 5 steals.
Other scorers were Hunter Jordan with 4 points and Kourtney Williams and Katie Reeder with 2 each.
Darnesha Claiborne kept the other team off guard with 9 steals.
The eighth-graders won with a balanced scoring attack, led by Keraveon Rodgers with 11 points, Taylor Martin 10 and Brittany Alfred 8.
Other scorers were Gabriel Sewell with 6 points, Alli Bowers 3, Amy Hill and Cheyenne Cover 2 each and Caitlyn Renson 1.
Renson also had 5 rebounds and 6 steals. Rodgers pulled down 4 boards, and Martin added 5 steals.
The Lady Tigers have road games against Timpson (Jan. 24) and Tatum (Jan. 31) before ending the year at home against Arp on Feb. 4.
