West Rusk defeats Tigers

Troup suffered a big loss to West Rusk Tuesday.

After falling behind by 10 in the first quarter, the Tigers could not recovere and fell 79- 45 to the Raiders.

West Rusk kept up the pressure in the second quarter, pouring in 24 points to Troup's 14 to take a 42-22 lead at the half.

After another big deficit in the third (23-8) the Raiders held off the Tigers in the fourth to secure the win.

Reginald Wade led the Tigers with 15, followed by Der'Rick Thompson with 12 (two treys), Cody Lepelley 7 (one trey) and Nick Reeves 4.

Jake Johnson and Zach Childress chipped in 2 each, with Jeremy Richardson added 3.

Troup (2-6) will host Tatum this Friday, with varsity scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
