WISD mourns loss of Dennis Patrick
BY SUZANNE LOUDAMY Staff writer
+ Whitehouse ISD is mourning the loss of one of its own this week. Whitehouse Junior High athletic coordinator Dennis Patrick passed away Sunday following a brief illness.

Whitehouse Junior High coach Dennis Patrick loved working with children and will be missed at WISD. A memorial service is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Whitehouse.
Coach Patrick came to WJHS three years ago after coaching in Chapel Hill, Van and several Metroplex area schools.

While at WJHS he served as the head football coach for the eighth grade team which had an undefeated season in 2006.

"His heart was really here with these junior high kids," said David Smith, Whitehouse Junior High principal. "Most coaches come in at this level and really want to move on to the high school sideline. Coach Patrick truly loved working with these kids and felt his calling was with them."

Smith said additional counselors have been on campus this week to talk with students as they go through this difficult time.

"He just wanted everyone to be happy," Smith said. "He was an absolute pleasure to work with and to know. He will be greatly missed by our students and faculty."

Memorial services for students, faculty and friends are set for 5 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Whitehouse.
