Dennis Patrick

BEN WHEELER - Services for Dennis Patrick, 50, of Ben Wheeler are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace Community Church with Pastors Todd Hinkie and Paul Henry officiating.

Burial will be 2 p.m. in Roselawn Cemetery in Seagoville under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home, Tyler.

Memorial services for students, faculty and friends are set for 5 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Whitehouse.

Mr. Patrick died Jan. 27, 2008.

He was born June 4, 1957 in Seattle, Wash., to the late Wilbert J. and Frances J. Patrick. His family moved to Texas in 1966, where he attended Mesquite High School and played football on the 1974 state playoff team. He graduated in 1976.

He coached for many years and officiated football and baseball for more than 20 years. He received his B.S. degree in 1995 from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University at Commerce). He taught and coached in schools in Mesquite, Ferris, Garland, Van, Chapel Hill and Whitehouse, where he served as Whitehouse Junior High School athletic coordinator.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Ellen; daughter, Kristy Parker, Kyle; son, Joseph "Joe" Patrick, Ben Wheeler; brothers, Ron Patrick, Wayne Patrick and Randy Patrick; sister, Debbie Jimison; one granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Patrick, Brandon Patrick, Justin Patrick, John Bowers, Jim Tucker, James Massey, James Allen, Gary Davenport and Jeremy Still.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Whitehouse athletics.
