Clarence R. Helms

Clarence R. Helms, 70, of Bullard died Jan. 25, 2008 at his residence. Services were held Jan. 28 at Elliott Memorial Chapel at Boren-Conner, Bullard, with Brent Duncan and Kenneth Helms officiating.

Burial was in Bullard Cemetery under direction of Boren- Conner Funeral Home, Bullard.

Mr. Helms was born Aug. 17, 1937 in Tyler to the late C.R. and Mattie Stripling Helms. He graduated from New Iberia High School and had lived in the Bullard area since 1966. He retired from Kelly-Springfield Tire Co., in 1992 and was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Patsy Helms of Bullard; son, Joey and wife Lavonne Helms of Flint; daughters, Tammy and husband Freddie Vaughan of Troup and Carolyn and husband Willie Ingram of Quitman; brothers, Kenneth and wife Betty Helms of Gresham and Roger Helms of Flint; sister, Peggy Welch of Frankston; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Justin Vaughan, Matt Vaughan, Patrick Ingram, Steven Ingram, Corey Ingram, Bobby Carter, Darren Dooley, Bob Bradberry and Brud Huval.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
