Bulldogs defeat Cats, 1-0

Going into Tuesday's game, the Cats needed a win to keep them in the top four of the district, but Chapel Hill narrowly won, 1-0.

Neither team was able to score in the first half with winds gusting up to 20 miles per hour. The Cats were not able to get off many goal chances.

The second half, with the wind at their backs, the Cats picked up the pace, though several foul calls in Chapel Hill's favor worked against them

At the 62nd minute of the second half the Bulldogs received a free kick that slipped in for the 1-0 lead. The Cats had their chances, but the keeper was able to make good saves.

With two minutes left in the game, Ivan Perez was fouled in the box and the Cats received a penalty kick taken by Payne Stinchfield. The ball hit the corner pole and bounced out.

The Cats overall record is now 3-3-2 and their district mark 2-2-1.

In the JV game, Whitehouse defeated Chapel Hill 2-0.
