JV bounces back with 2 road wins

After suffering their first district loss in the previous week, the Whitehouse JV bounced back strong last week with road wins at Pine Tree and Hallsville.

On Tuesday, the Cats went into Pine Tree and used a balanced scoring attack to defeat the Pirates 56-39. Judd Jackson paced the Cats with 14 points and was followed by Drew Flynn with 12, Skip Caldwell with 8, Justin Keller with 6, and Jace Ainsworth with 5 points.

The win sent the Wildcats onto Hallsville where they faced a hostile crowd and found that baskets were hard to come by for the first three quarters as they trailed 38-43 headed into the final quarter.

However Keller hit for 9 of his game high 22 points in a 12-2 run then Caldwell hit some clutch free throws down the end to propel the Wildcats to a 55-51 win. Jackson poured in 16 points on the night while Caldwell added 8 in the come from behind win.

The JV look to finish strong for the season as they play host tomorrow night to Marshall at Wildcat Arena with game time to start around 6 p.m. after the freshman game.
