Seal focusing on high school rodeos

William Seal has focused the last few months on competing in the high school bucking bull arena. As of now he sits in second with two more bulls to go before the region finals and he will get on them Sunday in Terrell.

The Region IV finals will be held March 21-23 in Athens. He has already qualified for state which will take place in May or early June.

Seal competed in a pro benefit bull bash in Sulphur Springs in January. He covered the bull but his score was not enough to yield any prize money.

With the purchase of his United Professional Rodeo Association and Cowboy's Professional Rodeo Association membership cards, Seal hopes to make at least 50-plus rodeos between now and September. He plans to purchase his Professional Bull Riders permit in May when he turns 18.

"It just can't get here quick enough," Seal said. "I've been on some PBR bulls before. I got on one in the Lindale Rodeo called 'Predator' which went to the finals. I didn't make eight, but man, what a ride!"

Seal would like to thank his sponsors for sticking with him: Whitehouse Floors and More, Rough and Ready Outfitters, Aldredge Construction and an anonymous donor in Tyler. Coming on board for 2008 is TD Fitness, owned by Rick and Donna Trevino. He would also like to thank Henry Wilson of Wilson Bucking Bulls of Gilmer for furnishing him with unlimited bulls to ride.
