Hogden to run for mayor

Whitehouse councilmember Danny Hogden has filed to run for mayor in the May 10 city elections.

The position of mayor and council places two and four are up for election.

At press time, current mayor Jake Jacobson and place two councilmember Gene Champion had not filed for re-election. Place four councilmember Mike Adams is not eligible to run due to term limits.

Hogden currently holds place three on the city council.

Councilmember Bill Powers announced his resignation at last month's regular meeting of the council. Council has until Feb. 29 to appoint someone to that seat; if not, a special election shall be called and held in conjunction with the city election on Saturday, May 10.

Filing for Whitehouse city elections opened Feb. 12 and continues until March 7.
