The 2007-2008 Whitehouse Wildcat Basketball team will be remembered for many things. But one memory in particular Whitehouse fans will not soon forget is the 105 points WHS put on the board versus Marshall Friday night in front of a huge home crowd.

The annual "senior night" activities were held prior to tip-off and from that point on, the Wildcats pummeled the Mavericks.

Whitehouse jumped out to a 12-0 lead, then lead 26-3 after one quarter, only to outscore the bewildered visitors 29-9 in the second frame for an insurmountable 55-12 lead at the half.

The Cats shot a torrid 68 percent from the floor in the first half, and a host of Wildcats chipped in.

The "balanced" scoring head coach Wally Dawkins' team has thrived on all season came around on Friday night in a big way during the 105-40 victory.

Senior guard Kyle Ford led the way with 21 points, hitting from long range as well as twisting moves to the basket as well as an inbound dunk. 6'8 junior post Jacob Holmen added 20, including a "monster dunk" off one of Mitch Marquis' 11 assists. Marquis also added 15 points, nailing three tri-fectas on the evening.

Cade Clark scored inside and out chipping in 16, while Kody Molloy had his fourth straight double-digit scoring effort tallying 13.

The entire team got into the scoring act with Tanner Fedell hitting for 7, Seth Cashion had 4, Blake Anglin nailed a three- pointer, while Nick Kunzman, Bart Henderson and Brady Attaway chipped in 2 each.

"It was a great night in front of a big crowd," Dawkins commented after the game. "We wanted to get the 100 points for Ms. LaToss Carpenter (WHS scorekeeper) and what a better night to do it than on senior night."

Carpenter, a longtime WISD employee and avid supporter of youth sports, was honored with a reception following the game.

It was the first time that 100 points had been scored in Wildcat Arena since it opened in November of 2000.

The Wildcats now face Houston Wheatley in a warm-up game awaiting their draw in the state playoffs for the fourth straight year.
