Frosh down Lions, Mavs

The Whitehouse freshman boys basketball team continued their march towards a district title last week with wins consecutive home wins over Henderson and Marshall.

In the Henderson game, the Wildcats showed probably their most balanced scoring attack of the year in a 69-23 taming of the Lions.

Trey Metoyer led the way with 19 points but was supported by 12 points each from Terrance Franklin and Ryan Speake and 10 points from Conner Cashion. Jake Potter added 7 in the win while Earcy Wynn and Chris Ervin added 4 points each.

The balanced scoring lingered over to the Friday game against Marshall as Metoyer led the way with 26 in a 80-34 blowout win over the visiting Mavericks. Cashion had 13 on the night while Ervin poured in 12, Franklin had 10 and Potter connected for 7.

The two wins moves the Wildcats district record to 12-1 and puts them in position to win district Tuesday night against Nacogdoches on the road.
