Free testing Friday at Hanks Senior Center
      Free health screenings will be available Friday, Feb. 22 at the Hanks Senior Center in Whitehouse. The free tests are for seniors 60 and over and will be conducted from 9-10 a.m. by Texas Home Health.

AARP tax aid available
      AARP Tax-Aide is the nation's largest free, volunteerrun tax assistance and preparation service available to taxpayers with low and middle income, with special attention to those age 60 and older. Services began Feb. 1 and will continue through April 15.

     Troup Cub Scouts #0375 Pinewood Derby race was held Feb. 12 at the First United Methodist Church in Troup, where the Cubs meet each week. The Cubs carved and painted their own cars for the race. Family members turned out to cheer their efforts.

Dance set at YMCA
Proceeds go to playground
      The Whitehouse YMCA is offering a night of boot-scootin' fun without the honky tonk atmosphere. Come and dance the night away in the gym of the Whitehouse YMCA on Friday, March 7 from 7 to 10 p.m. Admission for the dance is $3 per single adult and $5 per couple. Refreshments will be sold.
