Knight wins Most Romantic Couple contest
 | | Whitehouse library director Sandra Knackstedt presents Amy Knight with her prizes for winning the Most Romantic Couple contest. |
|
Amy Knight is the lucky winner of the Whitehouse Community Library's annual Most Romantic Couple contest. Knight was one of several library patrons who voted to determine which couple in literature and movies is the one that tugs at the heartstrings the most. Knight's name was drawn from a grouping of patrons who all voted for the top-ranked couple of Romeo and Juliet.
Shrek and Princess Fiona from the popular movie series came in second.
Perennial favorites Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara from "Gone With the Wind" dropped to third place.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in Mr. and Mrs. Smith came in fourth with the rest of the couples in the following order: Elizabeth Bennett and Will Darcy from "Pride & Prejudice," poets Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett, Stephanie Plum and Ranger from author Janet Evanovich's series, Antony and Cleopatra from the book and movie of the same name, Jim Qwilleran and Polly Duncan from Lillian Braun's series "The Cat Who…" and Eve Dallas and Roarke from J.D. Robb's series. If you don't recognize some of these names, visit the librar y to get acquainted.
The library wishes to thank Times Square Cinema for the donation of the two movie tickets given in our prize package.
