Alma Cecil Driggers Morrow
Mrs. Morrow was born Dec. 2, 1913 in Tyler to John Driggers and Beulah Dark Driggers. She passed away peacefully on Feb. 13, 2008 at Park Place in Tyler, where she had made her home for the last five years. She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church; however, she attended the Bible Sunday School Class and church at First Baptist, Troup. She and her husband, C.T. "Fat", owned and operated a grocery store on Mud Creek, west of Troup, during the 1940s. They relocated the store to Duval Street in Troup in 1948. After closing the store in 1956, she worked for Johnson Variety Store in Troup, which was owned by Eloise and C.A. Wilkinson. She retired in 1970. Mrs. Morrow was preceded in death by husband C.T. "Fat" Morrow, her parents, sister Beatrice Dotson, and brothers John Driggers, Grady Driggers, Roy Driggers, Walter Driggers and Paul Driggers. Mrs. Morrow is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Carl W. "Pug" and Sheila Rae Morrow of Troup; a granddaughter and grandson in-law, Carla L. and Dale Bekker of Whitehouse; great-grandchildren, Katie York and Drew York of Whitehouse and Clayton Bekker of Athens; sisters, Leila Faye Scoggin and Edna Wright both of Tyler, Anna Mary McCullough of Salt Lake City, Utah; sisters-in-law, Marie Driggers of Tyler and Joyce Driggers of McKinney; nieces and nephews.
