Jean C. Barker

HIDEAWAY - Memorial services for Jean C. Barker, 76, of Hideaway were held Feb. 16 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Art Hill officiating under direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors, Lindale.

Mrs. Barker died Feb. 8, 2008 at her residence.

She was born May 24, 1931 in Chicago, Ill., to the late Frank and Mary Hagan Cole. She lived at Hideaway for 20 years and was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include sons, Scott Malcolm, Austin, Brian Malcolm, Whitehouse, and Lt. Cmdr. Cory Barker, Stuttgart, Germany; daughter, Rebecca Higgins, Ruidoso, N.M.; sister, Marie Swanson, Hot Springs, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Campbell Barker, and son, Douglas C. Malcolm.
