TMS sets community book fair Feb. 25-29 Students from Troup Middle School will host a special book fair from Scholastic to help raise funds for purchasing new library books for Troup Middle School library. The book fair, called the "Exchange," is set for Monday- Friday, Feb. 25-29 from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., The Exchange will feature a wide range of books for young teens and adults, including mystery and adventure novels, fantasy trilogies, sports guides, anime, cookbooks, and the latest bestsellers from more than 150 publishers. Parents, children, teachers and the community are invited to attend. On Monday, Feb. 25 from 5:30-7 p.m., the Exchange will feature Family Night. Door prizes will be given. "By hosting the book fair, we are promoting literacy and reading, while at the same time raising money to purchase new library books," said Marci Hamilton, librarian assistant at Troup Middle School. "Our students always look forward to the opportunity to browse and purchase their own books," she added. Fair attendees can help build classroom libraries by purchasing books for teachers through the Classroom Wish List program. Sponsorships are available. Area businesses interested in making a donation are asked to contact Hamilton at 903-842-3081. |
