Freshmen, JV end year as champs
Both teams traveled into hostile territory last Tuesday night in Nacogdoches and came away with convincing wins over the Dragons, the freshman winning 65-44 and the JV by the score of 50-42. Trey Metoyer led the way for the Cats in the freshman game with 20 points followed by Ryan Speake with 17. In the JV game, Justin Keller led the way with a game-high 19 points, and Judd Jackson had 14 in the win. For the season, the freshmen had an overall record of 24- 3 and a district mark of 13-1. "I am ver y proud of my team's accomplishments. these young men worked hard all season long and played very well together," said coach Keith Ellis. The JV finished the year with a 26-2 mark and a district record of 13-1. "I am really happy for these guys," said JV coach Jason Shuck. "They deserve it because they worked hard, played together and just flat wanted it more than the rest of them. I can say that the future of Whitehouse basketball definitely looks bright." |
