McEuen joins mayoral race

A second candidate has entered the race for mayor in Whitehouse. Jeremy McEuen joins councilmember Danny Hogden in filing for the position of mayor.

At press time, no one had filed for places two, four or one.

Filings for the Whitehouse ISD race remained the same, as well. Incumbents Howard Patterson and Darrell Crymes are both seeking re-election, while no one has filed for Place 1.

Mayor John Whitsell and councilmember Carole Wilson are both seeking re-election to the Troup City Council. Although no one had filed for Place 2 or 3 at press time, Joe Carlyle had picked up a filing packet.

The Troup school board filings remain the same, with Andy Griffin seeking Place 1, incumbent Melissa Young Place 2 and Kevin Martin Place 3.

Deadline to file is March 10.
