Eddie "Baby Doll" Caldwell

Services for Eddie "Baby Doll" Caldwell, 76, of Whitehouse were held Feb. 21 at New Canaan Baptist Church with Dr. D.C. Brown and the Revs. Stephen Lynch and Billy P. Cleaver officiating.

Burial was in New Canaan Cemetery under direction of Brooks-Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors, Tyler.

Mr. Caldwell died Feb. 17, 2008 in Tyler.

He was born Sept. 8, 1931 in Tyler to the late Matthew and Estella Phillips Caldwell. He attended E. Bell and Arp schools and worked in transportation with the railroad. He was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by son, Eddie Gene Wallace.

Survivors include sons, Dextor Caldwell, Tyler, Cedric Caldwell and Altheria Lacy, both of Longview, and Timothy Lacy, Henderson; brothers, M.C. Caldwell and Anderson Caldwell Sr., both of Troup, and Phillip Caldwell, Greenville; sisters, Gladys C. Trimble and Elizabeth C. Pierce, both of Troup, Estella C. Battles and Rubie C. Battise, both of Tyler; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
