Hall brings experience to new job
Hall is "NFT"…that's "not from Troup," but he's working hard to learn the ropes in his new place. He comes with a strong background in utility work from Cypress Springs and Mount Pleasant. Lone Star and the Mount Pleasant area were home to Hall. He grew up in that region and has spent the majority of his life there. He did venture away long enough to meet his wife Brenda who is originally from Nebraska. Hall worked as a delivery driver for Region VIII for several years before joining the utility force at the City of Mount Pleasant. He also attended Northeast Texas Community College where he received a degree in applied science. While he was happy at the water treatment plant in Cypress Springs and happy with his family near where he grew up, when he saw the director's job opening in Troup, he thought this would be a good career move for him. He believed he had the knowledge and the skill to come in and head up this growing department in a city that is working to get ahead of its expanding population. Hall did get the position and has been working with the department's three full-time and one part-time guys to keep ahead of the curve. This is what Hall sees as a priority for the city's utilities. Upgrading areas of the infrastructure before there is a major problem is the best way to keep things running smoothly. "If we are looking at growth, the infrastructure is really important," Hall said. Hall's wife and three children are still in Mount Pleasant awaiting the sale of their house. "Things are falling into place," Hall said. "We just trust the Lord to work it all out and we know He will." |
