Local filing deadline March 10

Three additional candidates have filed for Whitehouse and Troup city and trustee spots, with the filing deadline March 10.

Patrick Moran has filed for Place 1 on the WISD board.

Joe Carlyle has filed for Place 2 on the Troup City Council.

Gene Champion has filed to retain his seat on the Whitehouse City Council.

At press time, all trustee candidates were unopposed.

Both city's councils could have vacancies after the election if no one files for the seats. Whitehouse has two spots open, and Troup one.

According to Whitehouse city attorney Stephen Evans, vacancies filled by appointment would then be up for a special election in November.
