William V. "Slim" Jackson

Church services for William V. "Slim" Jackson, 77, of Tyler were held Feb. 28 at Bascom Assembly of God with Rev. Don Herring, Rev. Charles Plunkett and Rev. Leon Batchelor officiating. Interment followed at Tyler Memorial Park under the direction of Tyler Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Jackson was born Nov. 21, 1930 in Kerens to the late Tommie and Ruby Irene Jackson, and passed away Feb. 26, 2008 in Tyler. He had lived in the Tyler area since 1963, worked in maintenance for the Texas Highway Department, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include; his wife, Lou Jackson of Tyler; sons, Tony Jackson of Fredericksburg, David Jackson of Kilgore, and Marty Jackson of Tyler; stepsons, Danny Kincaid of Denton, and Rick Kincaid of Fredericksburg; Lou's three daughters and sons-in-law, Vanessa and Roy Nix of Troup, Lisa and David Guynn of Wills Point, and Shannon and Lee Sanders of Tyler. He is survived by a host of grandchildren, step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren; and by his mother-in-law, Daisy Roberts of Tyler; three brothers and their wives, Arlie "Sparky" and Joyce of Fairfield, Tommy and Nelda of Athens, and Johnny and Carolyn of Tyler; two nieces; and two nephews.
