First Sgt. Lewis J. Krueger Jr.

Services for First Sgt. (Ret.) Lewis J. Krueger Jr., 78, of Mixon were held March 5, at the First Baptist Church, Mixon, with Reverend Joe Ballard officiating. Burial, with full military honors, was in the Mixon Cemetery.

Mr. Krueger died Feb. 29, in a Tyler hospital. He was born July 6, 1929 in Castalia, Ohio, to the late Lewis J. Krueger Sr. and Mildred E. Russell Krueger.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mixon, where he served as a deacon.

He married Shirley Ann Krueger on May 4, 1956. She preceded him in death Dec. 26, 2007. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Karen Camp.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Delores Krueger, Ft. Worth; two daughters and one son-in-law, Pam and Pete Rhoades, Tyler, and Brenda Carlson, Austin; two sisters Anida Leafgreen, Sandusky, Ohio, and Rosalie McGee Castalia, Ohio; four grandchildren, Ashley Ferrer, Jeffrey Rhoades, Jessica Rhoades, and Don Carlson; and two great grandchildren.
