Whitehouse continues UIL success

Congratulations to the Whitehouse High School UIL Academic Team which captured second place overall in a field of 53 schools competing at the A&M Consolidated UIL Academic Tournament Feb. 22-23.
Whitehouse was edged out only by 5A Aldine McArthur.
Individual first place winners included Sarah Stewart, news writing and ready writing; Shiv Rawal, math and science; Brenna Middleton, informative speaking; and Sara Peymon, Lincoln/Douglas debate. Middleton and Peymon both competed against a field of more than 70 speakers and debaters.

Journalism: second place team.
Editorial Writing: Brittni Barnett, fourth place.
News Writing: Sarah Stewart, first place; Barnett, second.
Literar y Criticism: Kate Mohr, fifth place; Brittany Wink, sixth; second place team - Byron Dunlap, Rebecca Stewart, Kate Mohr, Brittany Wink.
Calculator: Trent Chudej, fifth place (11-12th grade category).
Math: Shiv Rawal, first place (9-10th grade); Daniel Herrig, third (11-12th grade).
Number Sense: Zach Bishop, second place (9-10th grade); Herrig, fifth (11-12th grade).
Science: Rawal, first place (9- 10th grade).
Computer Science: Herrig, third place; Andrea Crawford, sixth; Peter Galbraith, seventh; first place team - Herrig, Crawfrod, Galbraith, Leah Pierce.
Informative Speaking: Brenna Middleton, first place; Rachel Cook, fifth. Lincoln/Douglas Debate: Sara Peymon, first place.
Ready Writing: Stewart, first place; Keerin Dewet, third place.
Spelling: Cody Faisst, fourth place; Kathleen Carpio, fifth place; second place team - Faisst, Carpio, April Fleming, Chudej.
Computer Applications: Allison Adams, fourth place; Megan Nelms, fifth.
