Harvell takes top prize at TJC art exhibit
      "Revelation of the Mind" is the title of Jon Harvell's awardwinning piece featured in the fourth annual high school exhibition at the Tyler Museum of Art. Harvell was one of five winners during Saturday's announcement at the museum. Harvell's medium was graphite and ink on paper.

Scholarships available for young artists
      For the seventh consecutive year, the Official Texas State Arts & Crafts Fair, held May 23-26 in Kerrville will award scholarships through its Emerging Texas Artist Program. A minimum of $15,000 will be awarded this year to the selected Texas art students.
