Scholarships available for young artists

For the seventh consecutive year, the Official Texas State Arts & Crafts Fair, held May 23-26 in Kerrville will award scholarships through its Emerging Texas Artist Program. A minimum of $15,000 will be awarded this year to the selected Texas art students.

The program provides space at the fair for the students to exhibit and sell their artwork. A panel of professional artists judge participating students to determine the Emerging Texas Artist winner, as well as, a runner-up and category winners.

Students must enter the competition through their college or art school. The deadline is March 30. Applications are available at www.tacef.org.
