Young and not-so-young have fun at Oakbrook egg hunt ...
Age is no matter when it comes to fun and Easter egg hunting.
Several children from the Children's Learning Center in Whitehouse traveled to the Oakbrook Health Care Center on Tuesday. They shared hotdogs and much more.
The morning was filled with an Easter egg hunt, crafts, games, prizes and a piñata in the back courtyard of Oakbrook.
"Several of our residents' families donated the eggs, candy and other items," Oakbrook Activity Director Shanna Kennedy said. "And we took care of the rest out of our budget."
Employees pulled out the grill and cooked a few hotdogs for an early lunch.
On hand to help corral children were several older students. They assisted with the food and the crafts.
Sarah Stone of the Children's Learning Center said that they had been working with Kennedy in planning events every few months between the learning center and health care center.
"We came down at Christmas and just had the best time," Stone said. "The children played Bingo with the residents and they all enjoyed a Christmas party."
