Robert "Bob" Webb

Services for Robert "Bob" Webb, 77, of Tyler were held March 14 at Stewart Family Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Carey Ponder officiating.

Burial was at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Fun eral Home in Tyler.

Mr. Webb died Tuesday, March 11, 2008 in his home unexpectedly.

He was born Feb. 28, 1931 in Dallas to the late Smith and Thelma Webb.

Bob attended high school and graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Houston in 1960. He went to work for Wm. Cameron Wholesale Company in 1948 and retired in July 2003. In between that he enlisted into the United States Army on May 22, 1951 in Waco and served his country until his honorable discharge on May 21, 1953.

He was a Methodist by faith and loved riding four-wheel- ers, and his dog "George," who would always ride with him.

Mr. Webb was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William "Bill" Webb; and sister, Anetha Mounce.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sammie Broughton Webb of Flint; daughter, Kelly Thedford and husband Randy of Tyler; sons, Vincent Webb of Whitehouse, and Lee Webb and wife Christy of Whitehouse; three grandchildren, Chad Thedford, Eric Thedford and Ashleigh Webb; three greatgrandchildren, Collin Thedford, Kylie Thedford and Brooklyn Thedford; brothers, Smith T. Webb and wife Betty of Houston, and Curtis Webb and wife Gloria of Harlingen.

Pallbearers were Anthony Broughton, Chad Thedford, Eric Thedford, Freddie Williams, Edward Nunn "Jr." and Ron Rogers.

Honorary pallbearers were Clint Liles, Dr. Richard Anderson and the Smith County Sheriff's Department.
