Whitehouse isn't used to finishing anywhere but first in district when it comes to girls soccer; despite that disappointment this season, the Ladycats clinched second place with an 8-0 thrashing of first-place Lindale last Friday.

Playing in front of a home crowd on senior night, the Ladycats handed Lindale its only district loss. Whitehouse moves on to face Jasper tonight (March 20) with the time and place undecided at press time.

This was the third contest between the teams this year, with Whitehouse winning a preseaon game 3-0 and Lindale handing the Ladycats one of their two district losses, 3-2.

The Ladycats began their scoring early with a goal 12 minutes in the game by Kayla Zambrano who was assisted by Lindsay Pritchard. This was quickly followed by a beautiful cross by Kelli Hill to Elisa Dollahite for the second goal of the game.

The third and final score of the half was made by Kelli Hill with an assist by Elissa Parker. The Lady cats shot 21 attempts to Lindale's 3 in the first half.

The second half star ted much like the first with a goal in the first 10 minutes by Hill as- sisted by Parker. The play on the field became much more physical, but the Ladycats were up to the challenge.

Pritchard went into the back of the net unassisted. Then she scored her second goal of the night with an assist by Brittany Gonzalez.

This was soon followed by a cross by Pritchard to Heather Lofties for a score.

The final goal was scored from the 45-yard line by Brittany Millican unassisted.

The Whitehouse seniors were pulled from the game with four minutes left and the scoring ceased.

The Ladycats again outshot Lindale with 16 attempts to two.

When asked about the game, the senior girls replied, "We decided as a team we would not lose our last regular season game and we played as a team. It was a great game."
