Community Activities

Clean Whitehouse Day Saturday

Clean Whitehouse Day is Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon on Railroad Road. See page 1A for list of items begin accepted.

Outdoor warning system test

The City of Whitehouse tests the outdoor warning siren system the first Tuesday of each month at 11 a.m. Should there be inclement weather the testing will be postponed to the following month.

Dixie Masonic Lodge to meet

The Dixie Masonic Lodge #272 in Troup will meet Tuesday, April 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the lodge hall.

Troup American Legion to meet

Troup American Legion will meet Tuesday, April 1 at 6 p.m. at the legion hall.

Game Time for Seniors

Game Time for Senior Citizens will be Wednesday, April 2 from 1-3 p.m. at the Troup library. All senior citizens are welcome to attend.

Troup Sons of the Legion to meet

Troup Sons of the Legion will meet Thursday, April 3 at 6 p.m. at the legion hall.

Casey Rivers in concert

Casey Rivers will be in concert Saturday, April 5 at 7 p.m. at WHS auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children under age 10 and are on sale at Tri County Leader, CardSmart and Cavendar's. The concert benefits the Shattered Dreams program at WHS.

Tyler Aggie Mom's Club work night

In preparation for Parents Weekend at Texas A&M University, April 11-13, the Tyler A&M Mothers' Club will have an additional Boutique work night on Sunday, April 6 at 1:30pm, at Pollard United Methodist Church, 3030 Copeland Road.

AARP Tax-Aide available Friday

Free tax return preparation service for low and middle income taxpayers, especially those age 60 and over is offered Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the Whitehouse YMCA, 301 Terry St. Contact Jim Novy at 903-581-1809 for information.

Business Expo set

The Whitehouse Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring their second annual Business Expo on Tuesday, April 22, 5- 8 p.m. to be held at Whitehouse Junior High gym. This year's event will feature the Taste of Whitehouse from area restaurants. For booth sign up contact Sandra at 903-520-4585.

Whitehouse library activities

Story time is every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Regular library hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday 11-4. Questions? Call the library at 903-839- 2949 or email at whitehouselibrary@hotmail.com.

Church Activities

Bascom UMC hosts breakfast Saturday

The Bascom United Methodist Church on FM 848 hosts breakfast the last Saturday of the month from 8:30 -10 a.m. A full breakfast meal is served and donations are accepted.

School Activities

Whitehouse Band Boosters meet Tuesday

The Whitehouse Band Boosters will meet Tuesday, April 1 at 7 p.m. in the WHS band hall.

Troup senior class fund-raiser

The senior class of Troup High School is selling spring flowers. Deadline for ordering is March 31 and delivery will be April 5. Contact any THS senior or Kathy Marshall or Karen Agnew at the high school.

Government Activities

Troup City Council to meet

A special called meeting of the Troup City Council is scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday, March 31. The council will meet at City Hall, 106 E. Duval, and then travel through town on a bus to look at and discuss areas of town for the proposed zoning ordinance.
