Constable Smith endorses Rust

Pct. 3 Constable Danny Smith gave his support to candidate Dustin Rust this week.

Citing training and experience, Smith called Rust "the most qualified candidate in this race."

"I know Dustin Rust to be an honest man who is a dedicated police officer," said Smith. "Dustin has the experience and desire to to ser ve all the needs of the citizens of Smith County."

The top two vote-getters in the Republican Primary earlier this month were Gar y Guthrie and Dustin Rust. Guthrie received 2,059 votes, with Rust earning 1,428.

Terry Brunk and Rod Langlinais also ran.

With no candidate receiving a majority of the vote, a run-off election is necessary.
