Clean Whitehouse Day set Saturday

The semiannual Clean Whitehouse Day is set for Saturday, March 29 from 8 a.m. until noon. This event gives the community the opportunity to dispose of items not suitable for regular recycling.

"We are accepting appliances, furniture, miscellaneous junk and tires," said Mike Peterson, code enforcement officer. "There is a $2 disposal fee for each tire."

This is the ideal time for spring cleaning the garage, the store room and the yard to rid your home of extra or unwanted items.

Items that will not be accepted are paint, household trash, batteries or yard waste.

Whether your items are junk or just junk to you, bring them down to the Recycling Center on Railroad Road south of FM 346 and do your part to REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE.
