Morgan D. "Snake" Austin

Services for Morgan D. "Snake" Austin, 49, of Troup were held March 22 at Mary Memorial Church of God in Christ with Elder Willie Lacy officiating.

Burial was in Community Cemetery under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co., Tyler.

Mr. Austin died March 13, 2008 at his residence.

He was born May 19, 1959 in Troup, and was a lifelong resident of Smith County. He attended Troup public schools, was a machine operator and welder, and a member of Mount Rose Baptist Church.

Survivors include brothers, Frenchell Austin, Washington, Morris Austin, Jackie Austin and Allen Austin, all of Troup, Christopher Austin, New Mexico, and Marvin Austin, Tyler; and sisters, Georgia Ward, Troup, and Elnora Austin, Seattle, Wash.
