Shirley Langley Gossett Services for Shirley Langley Gossett, 61, of Dallas, formerly of Tyler, were held March 22 at New Zion Baptist Church of Clayton with the Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial was in New Canaan Cemetery, Whitehouse, under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co., Tyler. Mrs. Gossett died March 14, 2008 in a Garland nursing home. She was born Sept. 1, 1946, in Smith County and attended Stanton High School. She lived in Dallas County for more than 30 years, was a domestic worker and member of Zion Temple Church of God in Christ. Survivors include sons, Eric Gossett and Darrell Gossett, both of Dallas; daughters, Carolyn Pierce and Shirley Green, both of Dallas, Marilyn Cavitt, Lancaster, and Barbara Thomas, Garland; brothers, Willie C. Battles and Tony Battles, both of Tyler, Winfred Langley, Whitehouse, Johnny C. Battles Jr., Irving, and Arthur Fulsom, Fort Worth; sisters, Katie Gross, Dallas, and Norma Babers, Wiiley; grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. |
