Tyler Civic Theatre seeks new plays

Tyler playwrights and dramatists have an opportunity to submit original scripts to the Tyler Civic Theatre Center third annual New Play Festival. Scripts should be unpublished and suitable to East Texas community standards. Sections of a work in progress, such as one act of a multi-act play, are welcome.

The deadline for script submission is April 14. Selected scripts will be evaluated in writing by a panel of experienced theatre educators and producers. Evaluated scripts will be produced for the public with experienced actors in readers' theatre format at the New Play Festival on June 14 in the Rogers Children's Theatre at 400 Rose Park Dr.

Playwrights whose scripts were selected for reading at previous New Play Festivals lived in Tyler, Lindale, Frankston and San Jose, Calif. TCTC encourages writers' groups to inform their members of this opportunity to have a work evaluated and read aloud for an audience.
