Camp Tyler chooses top poster

Holloway Middle School student Emilee Mullins shows off the poster she made, which won the Earth Day contest at Camp Tyler. Pictured with her are Camp Tyler representatives Rodd Wayne, director of volunteer services, and Kathy Lagesse, program director.
Earth Day East Texas has chosen a winner in their poster contest for the April 20 event. The winner is Emilee Mullins, a fifth grade student at Holloway Middle School.

The theme of this year's Earth Day event is "Making a Smaller Footprint."

"Emilee's poster best depicted that theme," said Kathy Lagesse, program director for the Camp Tyler Foundation. "It will be used for promotion and displayed with the other entries on the day of the event."

Earth Day East Texas is an annual event held at Camp Tyler to celebrate Texas's natural heritage, while educating the public about being good stewards of their environment, and includes activities like live music performances, educational games, hayrides, nature walks and gardening demonstrations.
