Annual event moves to fall
YESTERYEAR ANNOUNCEMENTS
BY SUZANNE LOUDAMY Staff writer

While plans are under way, details are still sketchy as a 25-year tradition prepares for a change.

One of the "must haves" for the annual YesterYear event that has always been held the fourth weekend in June is a fan. With this fact heading the "top 10 reasons to move the date of YesterYear" list, the YY committee has approved a change of dates for this longtime summer festival.

The parade and park activities are set for Oct. 11 with the coronation and ball to follow that night. The Saturday before, Oct. 4, is the date for the Review.

The date change is centered on the Whitehouse High School homecoming, so the event will change dates each fall, revolving around the football schedule.

At this time, no changes have been made as far as the Roy Lawrence Memorial Golf Tournament. Typically the tourney has taken place the Friday of the third weekend in June. It remains to be determined what the date will be for 2008.
