Alvin "Jack" Franklin Services for Alvin "Jack" Franklin, 78, of Troup were held March 28 at New Hope Conglee Baptist Church, Troup, with Bishop Jessie L. Malone officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery, Troup, under direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler. Mr. Franklin died March 20, 2008 in a Henderson hospital. He was born Nov. 12, 1929 in Troup and was a lifelong resident of Smith County. He attended Troup Central High School and retired as a bulldozer operator from Bob Waters Construction. He was a member of Victory Drive Church of God in Christ, Marshall, and Over the Hill Riding Club. Survivors include his mother, Estella Franklin, Troup; brothers, Lonnie Franklin, Kansas City, Kan., Roy Franklin, Banning, Calif., Roosevelt Franklin, Cezel Franklin, Leon Franklin, Albert Franklin Jr., Abe Franklin and Arthur Franklin, all of Troup; and sisters, Lola Franklin and Alma Malone, both of Troup, Nora Williams, Whitehouse, and Ruth Fonza, Tyler. |
