THS Academic Team finishes 3rd in UIL

One Act Play zone award winners are (listted alphabetically) Jared Ayres, Kayla Bright, Megan Dowdy, Shelby Frost, Hayley McPherson, Haleigh Roach and Raymond Wavrusa.
Troup High School claimed third place at the District 21-2A UIL academic meet on March 27-28.

Host school Tatum finished first followed by Timpson.

The top six placements in each category advance to the next level of competition.

Troup students Maegan Knuckles and Kayla Bright each finished first an individual event, and THS placed first in the team events of literary criticism and One Act Play.

Individual events

Accounting: Angela McGregor, sixth.

Current issues: Jake Johnson, fifth.

Computer applications: Maegan Knuckles, first.

Computer science: Charlie Ralph, sixth.

Feature writing: Shelby Stubblefield, sixth.

Informative speaking: Thomas Lammons, fourth; Sarah Hensley, fifth.

Literar y criticism: Kayla Bright, first; Chelsea Isaacks, second.

Number sense: Ralph, fourth.
