Troup FFA students return from Houston

Amanda Sanford, Casey Sanford and Kody Welch show off the awards they won in Houston.
Troup FFA had two projects participate in the Ag Mechanics show in Houston.

Caleb Turner, Brendon Weeks, and Rory Bowman built a set of heavy duty livestock scales. The team received a red ribbon.

Shawn Beard, Brandon Chrisman and JD Weems built a bumper-pull utility trailer and received a blue ribbon as well as a high honor purple ribbon.

Both groups put in a tremendous amount of effort in all year for their projects, according to FFA sponsor Renee Williams.

Curt Lindsey, Ethan Isaacks and Jared Underwood were participants in the Market Steer Show. Chance Steele and Drew Tarver also participated in the Houston commercial steer show.

Emily Renfroe exhibited in the junior market barrow show. Her pig placed fifth in its class and made the Houston Auction.

Casey Sanford and Amanda Sanford exhibited Red Angus heifers. Casey placed fourth and Amanda received first place.

Kody Welch showed his Brangus heifer, placing third in his class.

"Ever yone had been working hard all year, getting ready for this show," said Williams. "There were a lot of lost Saturdays and timeconsuming afternoons to get their projects ready on time. All the kids had a great time at the Houston livestock show and are ready for next year's show."
