Wildcat JV tops 3rd straight meet

The Wildcat junior varsity boys track team continued its march to district with a firstplace finish at the Wildcat Relays last Thursday. After taking second place at Pine Tree and Hallsville to open the year, the JV has won its last three meets.

The Wildcats won eight of 17 events and finished in the top three of each event except the 4x100 relay.

Whitehouse racked up 195 points in first, with Marshall (140) and Hallsville (109) following. Arp, Tatum, Kilgore, Pine Tree and Lufkin followed.

The varsity boys finished seventh, trailing Tatum (164), Marshall (121), Hallsville (105), Arp, Pine Tree and Kilgore. Lufkin was eighth.

The varsity Ladycats ended in fourth place with 90 points. Lufkin (160), Hallsville (107) and Marshall (100) grabbed the top three spots. Kilgore, Pine Tree, Arp and Tatum rounded out the girls division.

The district track meet will be April 8-9 at Hallsville. The JV boys are the current leaders in several district events, according to head track coach Don Garlitz.
