Troup boys capture district title

Troup's varsity boys golf team claimed the District 21-2A golf title Monday, finishing with a 74-stroke lead over secondplace Tatum. The district meet was held at Troup's Hilltop Country Club.

Tiger golfers Cory Caraway (76) and Drew Marshall (78) claimed the top two individual spots with Tatum's Daniel Pepper (82) finishing in third.

"Our boys have finished first or second in all tournaments except one this year," said John Eastman, athletic director and golf coach.

Members of the boys golf team are Jordan Jackson, Curt Lindsey, Brad Bentley, Caraway and Marshall. Jared Underwood and Chris Spencer played medalist.The girls district

tournament will be 9 a.m. Thursday, also at Hilltop CC. Members of Troup's varsity girls team are Whitney Caraway, Lindsey Tollett, Taryn Dyess, Lauren Ledford and Calyn Wilkie.
