Rachel Nicole Davenport and Jacob Arthur Wright, both of Troup, were married April 4 at The Castle on the Lake in Jacksonville with Pastor Ray Baldwin officiating the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Dicky and Kim Davenport of Troup. She is a 2007 honor graduate of Troup High School, attended Tyler Junior College on a Top Ten Scholarship and plans to enroll in the Art Institute of Pittsburg to study residential planning. She is employed at La Hacienda in Troup.
The bride's grandparents are Robert Kinney and Amelda Penn of Overton and Richard Davenport and Nedra Gatewood of Troup.
The groom, son of Melton and Heidi Wright and Chris and Melinda Love of Troup, is a 2006 honor graduate of Troup High School, attends TJC on a Top Ten Scholarship, and plans to attend Texas A & M University in the fall to study architecture. He is employed by Simple Simons in Whitehouse.
The groom's grandparents are Sam and Dorris Willis of Tyler and Barbara Scott of Henderson.
Katie West served as maid of honor, and Kim Davenport served as matron of honor. Serving as flower girl was Natalie Davenport.
Best men were Austin Slaughter and Jason Davenport. Ryan Caldwell and Kaston Kincade served as groomsmen.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a rich brown-gold strapless floor length gown that glistened when it caught the candle light of the ceremony. She chose this unique dress because she did not want the typical dress or ceremony. She carried a bouquet of cream colored roses wrapped in the fabric of her dress with a "something blue" charm hanging from the front.
A reception followed the ceremony. The couple will reside in Troup until their move to College Station.
