Whitehouse residents earn wins at St. Gregory

Former Whitehouse cross country standout, and current college champion, R.J. Cowan won the 23rd annual St. Gregory Fun run Saturday, April 5. Cowan completed the 5K race with a time of 17:12, a 5:33 pace per mile.
Cowen previously won this race in 2006.
Other Whitehouse residents who participated in the race and won awards include Timothy Priest, who finished fourth overall with a personal best time was 18:13 (5:56 ppm). He received a trophy for first place in the 16-19 age division.
Rick Uribe placed third in the 40-44 age bracket with a time of 20:11, 13th overall.
Matthew Greene was first in the 30-34 age division with a time of 20:31, 18th overall.
Ricardo Medina placed second in the 13-15 age division with a time of 20:46, 19th overall. Sherri Priest placed second in the 45-49 age bracket with a time of 27:25.
Kate Mohr won the one mile race for the women with a time of 6:34.
The event was held at the TK Gorman campus on a chilly morning.
About 1,000 people where on hand for the festivities, which included the 5K race, a one mile race and a kid's dash.
