Town Center designer scheduling meetings with property owners Butler Planning Services is offering property owners and stakeholders the opportunity to meet oneon one with the plan designer Christopher Butler on April 28-30. Butler was retained by the City of Whitehouse to create a Town Center Plan and a zoning district which would regulate development with the Town Center area. This area is designated in the Vision 2020 Comprehensive Plan. This plan is available online at the City's website www.whitehousetx.org. Letters and surveys were mailed out to each property owner along the designated area which begins just north of Austin Bank and runs south just past Pro One. East and west the corridor is from Willingham Road to Senter Avenue. As of Tuesday, only one of the 95-96 property owners had replied to reserve a time. Butler has an online visual preference exercise that presents examples for how the Town Center could develop. "The results of the survey will form the basis for aesthetic, bulk and other site design regulations," Butler said in his letter. To view the online exercise go to http://www.butler planningser vices.com/ whitehousesurvey.html. Mike Peterson, director of community development for the city, said that town hall meetings are scheduled for May 26 and June 23 for public input. "The need and desire for citizen input to this project cannot be stressed too strongly," Peterson said. "We (the city) really want the citizens to express their ideas and desires for the town center." To make an appointment to visit with Butler, contact Mike Peterson at 903-839-4914, ext. 233 or mpeterson@ whitehousetx.org. |
